Sofitel - Gaby's*

A very french welcome to our first breakfast in NYC ~
welcomed by the chilly morning breeze outside.
V and I were seated at a petite table near the window
watching yellow cabs and fashionistas strolled by.
- akin to a scene from the movies!

le continental 'a la francaise'
assorted basket of freshly baked french viennoiseries, breads and muffin

house made jams

harney & sons tea
(in a teapot similar to Tetsuya's!)

ouefs poches florentine
poached eggs over grilled portobello mushrooms, spinach and hollandaise sauce
(served with baby sauteed baby fingerling potatoes, asparagus, onions & peppers)

Jeremy Lin *

Everywhere we went,
the streets of NYC were buzzing with Lin-sanity.
While walking around Times Square,
I would here his name being uttered by passer-byers.

It was an nba obsession or craze, whatever you prefer
which swept the city as quick as the penalty shoot-out had occurred.
Jeremy Lin was everywhere!

even fast food chains like Shake Shack were offering a piece of him!
Anyone up to slam dunk a Jeremy Lin-Mint?

Shake Shack *

"Modern day "roadside" burgers
being a part of Danny Meyer's group.
As the buzzer says:
When I'm shakin'
come on up to the Shack!"

Awesome burgers and fries
yet I would give the hot dogs a miss.

Almost give In-N-Out a run for it's money
as best fast food chain in the US
... almost, but not quite.

shack burgers and fries
(100% all-natural Angus beef. no hormones and no antibiotics ever.
we grind our proprietary shake blend fresh daily.)

flat-top dogs
frisky bird dog (chicken sausage with spicy tomato-simmered onions)
shack-cago dog (dragged through the garden with shake shack relish, onion, cucumber, pickle, tomato, sport pepper, celery salt and mustard)

remember to sip on some Sauvignon Blanc

and there really is something for everyone... including your small fries!

Eric Rupert *

And again,
one of those kodak moments in NYC
while dining at Le Bernardin.
Exceptional food, service, and unforgettable experience indeed.

Invited to take a photograph with Eric Rupert
behind the scenes where all the culinary magic is conjured... in the kitchen!
I was so happy, it literally brought a tear to my eye.

The Blonde Salad *

Guess what they say is true...
you literally bump into celebrities everywhere in NYC!
Strolling around MOMA, I literally did a double take.
Spotted:
The Blonde Salad!

Thanks- from the Future me *

"The difference between who you are
and who you want to be,
is what you do.

Do something today
that your future self will thank you for."

Once again, I am guilty of neglecting my blog.

Recently I have been preoccupied making job applications and studying for College of Law. Yes... one more week and I will be finished! (On a side note- whoever told me the course was a breeze clearly was unreliable. But I must admit it is very interesting to apply practical legal skills to the test!)

Having returned from NYC now, I wish for nothing more than to spend unlimited hours posting up every single amazing food find that we uncovered over there. See below for a sneaky peak of NYC and for what is to come. Proper posts will progressively start as of next Friday.

NYC *

"Concrete jungle where dreams are made of
There's nothing you can do,
these streets will make you feel brand new.
Big lights will inspire you ~
let's here it for NY"

Shopping and eating with two of my best friends
in the City of Dreams.
What more can a girl ask for?

photographs & effort to recapture some of the memories
will be on the cards in the next few posts, when I return
as well as a massive detox from all the food consumed!
