"Shameless, Brazen and Bashful.
She wants to seduce you, she wants to satisfy you,
she wants to stimulate your senses and tempt you with her feast of
fresh, bold and delicious flavours and textures.
I present to you: Madam Char Char."
They are shouting it from the roof tops loud and clear, they are all about the flavour!
During my break, I venture to Surry Hills for a quick lunch before resuming another intense study session. As you enter, food is wholeheartedly displayed in visual abundance like a market stall for all to see and enjoy. There are a range of salads, slow cooked and braised dishes made from the latest seasonal produce.
Peering up at the enormous blackboard will reveal an enticing list of gourmet burgers, freshly made to order. My aim is to sample every combination... eventually. In the meantime, I can devote my time to reminiscing about the flavours. I must confess, I am addicted to the damper bun, which so delicately holds the layers of ingredients like a gastronomic painting.
(Note to self: must return to try the salads next time!)
Little Lambie (He's famous!)
7 Hour Lamb, Caramelised Onions, Rocket, Aioli and Nan's Relish
(Expecting to be served a lamb fillet or diced lamb, I was contemplating how I would go about eating the burger in a clean fashion. To my pleasant surprise, the lamb was shaven into fine shreds which gave it a soft easy bite. Whoever said that burgers were hard to eat must not have tried this yet!)
Sometimes one photo simply does not do the food any justice...
So a second photo illustrating what it is inside is required,
And maybe a third photo- just for good measure!
Rocking Roast Rooster
Roast Chicken, Lettuce, Tomato, Aioli and Gravy
(This burger is really a handful, extremely filling, but worth the effort. From my recollection of Red Rooster burgers, which I presume is it's namesake, I prefer this healthier option by far.)
Mr Pumpkin
Roast Pumpkin, Blue Cheese, Walnuts, Caramelised Onions, Rocket, Aioli and Nan's Relish
(My favourite! I must admit that I have a soft spot for pumpkin and this is also a nice option for Vegetarians. Furthermore, incorporating blue cheese in a burger basically sealed my tick of approval.)
