J and I hit the streets of Surry Hills for our regular meet.
Lucky for us there were no lines
so we were quickly seated at a table by the sidewalk.
My only struggle was trying to decide what to order from the extensive menu!
scottish breakfast
traditional black pudding, square sliced sausage, tatty (potato) scone,
2 poached eggs & roast tomato
(black pudding was great, tatties were akin to potato crepes,
though overall a bit salty.)
english breakfast
bacon, free range pork sausage, 2 fried eggs, bangbang baked beans,
bubble & squeak with roast tomato & sourdough toast
(Cute inclusion of 'bubble & squeak' i.e. chopped vegetables that makes bubbling & squeaking noises during the cooking process!)
As we walk inside to pay,
more food beckons from a reflective blackboard on the back wall.
Interior decor reminded me of a hair salon
and the enormous headphones stencil was rather curious.
Later I discover the owner Alan Thompson was a former Ministry of Sound DJ
(not sure where the hairdresser comes in though!)
