Revolver *

Ready, aim... target destination locked in.
Contrary to the name, there are no firearms involved
but making the trek to quaint back streets of Annandale 
for the food is definitely worth a shot.

At a glance, it seems like the typical brunch menu. 
But upon closer inspection, there is a surprising twist to the classics
Superb place to chill on the weekend with gluten free and organic options, 
a laid back rustic ambience and buzzing vibe. 
Not to mention a fun filled fantastical website 
that builds anticipation until you finally enter this hidden gem 
(clue: find the door right next to the mermaid!).


two eggs baked in housemade beans, honey cured bacon, roast tomato, mushrooms,
pork fennel sausage & toast

(served steaming hot in a cast iron pan and the freshly baked soy & linseed toast was delish!)

Sumac cured bacon, parmesan scrambled eggs, fennel & rocket salsa
Add: poached egg
(I couldn't decide between the Eggs Benedict or the enticing parmesan scrambled eggs,
so I created my own fusion of the two dishes!)


Red Dragon organic ginger beer
(oriental bottle personified! tasted lighter than Bundaberg)

Soy Latte
(Espresso was too weak, however,
use of my favourite Bonsoy soymilk was satisfying in itself!)

Pam 23 *

Family dinner to celebrate my cousin's birthday ~ 
per special request, 
mum cooks some of Pam's favourite dishes!

stir-fry efu noodles with pork; braised duck in oyster sauce; 
steamed blue cod with ginger & shallots; 
chicken maryland & shiitake mushrooms; fish cakes & garlic chi
pumpkin & taro mash pork belly

Stronger than the infamous beers in Berlin,
my brother has developed quite an alcohol tolerance
and brings back a Silver Patron!

Reuben Hills*

With a coffee origin inspired menu, 
this Cafe houses a dedicated lab upstairs 
to assess their coffee beans that are roasted daily!
Their selection of quirky milkshakes is an added incentive 
with options such as salted caramel, black sesame, espresso & white choc, 
or be a tad fancy with a Mexican Ibarra Choc Chilli shake.

Great place to catch up with C while satisfying my caffeine fix! Went with JS on another occasion but the soft corn tortillas were a let down. 

SOFT Baked Eggs
with goats curd, wilted spinach & ranchero sauce & rye sourdough
(Ranchero sauce had a nice tanginess from the acidity of tomatoes, but wasn't a fan of the goats curd.)

Soft Corn Tortillas
chicken with lime & ginger, sweet potato & adobo pepper salsa
(quite unexpected combination, 
reminiscent of Indian spices & curry)

Tradesmans Brioche
eggs, jamon, avocado & relish
(Brioche had the token subtle sweet flakey texture that was a welcome difference to regular burger buns.

Umi Kaiten Zushi*

when I crave for something healthy & clean
what immediately springs to mind is
where can I go for sushi train
what I usually order is an assortment of sashimi plus sushi, but
why I did not opt for carpaccio earlier is perplexing!

kingfish carpaccio
kingfish sashimi, fish roe, shallots & onion with ponzu dressing
(thoroughly enjoyed the added textures & flavours,
which lifted the fresh sashimi to souring heights!)
